From the SRP Editor blog:
Well… that escalated quickly.
As of this week, my editing calendar is now booked into March.
First: thank you. Truly. Nothing says “trust” like writers handing over their manuscripts.
Second: if you’ve been thinking, “I should probably get a quote…” — this is your nudge from the universe.
Here’s the thing about editing schedules: Projects don’t just stack neatly. They overlap. They shift. They arrive in waves. And once a queue fills, the only honest option is to tell new clients: “I’d love to work with you. Your start date will be later than you hoped.”
If you’re aiming for:
- a specific release window
- a submission deadline
- a Kickstarter timeline
- or simply your own sanity
…getting on the schedule early matters more than most writers realize.
Submitting for a quote doesn’t obligate you. It just secures your place in line while we figure out scope and timing. Because the worst editing problem isn’t a messy draft. It’s a finished manuscript with no time left to make it better.
