Every so often, something happens in a writer’s life that makes you stop, blink twice, and think: “Holy hell, we actually did that.” And today is one of those days.
If you’ve somehow missed me yammering about it on social media, in emails, or in casual conversation with strangers in line at the grocery store, let me catch you up: Tracy’s Once and Future Hearts series — all thirteen books of it — is officially getting its own Kickstarter.
Exclusive hardcovers. The complete saga. The grand finale. The whole Arthurian enchilada.
This series has been Tracy’s passion project for years. Sweeping historical fantasy romance spanning decades, kingdoms, betrayals, heartbreaks, and the sort of epic love stories that make the rest of us look bad. And now, she’s bringing it all home with the thirteenth and final book, Camlann. It’s a massive accomplishment — not just writing thirteen novels, but weaving them into a single, interlocking saga that readers adore.
And yes, I get a front-row seat. I’ve watched her brainstorm in the shower, plot over dinner, mutter about Saxons at 2 a.m., and wrestle with scenes until she gets them just right. I edited every one of these books, and yet she still surprises me. (Infuriating, really.)
So this Kickstarter?
I am incredibly, ridiculously proud of her.
Like, “bursting buttons, brag to anyone who’ll listen, possibly stopping strangers to talk about King Arthur” proud.
