Today marks the release of After the Quieting, the first story in the Veilwardens Chronicles.
One of the things I enjoy most about writing this series is that every answer seems to uncover a bigger question.
The Veilwardens have spent generations maintaining the portals between Terra and Aethryn. They’ve been taught that the balance between the two worlds is essential, and that their duty is simple: keep the portals stable and protect the system.
But what happens when the system itself begins to fail?
In After the Quieting, strange events are becoming harder to explain, old assumptions are being challenged, and Riva Thorn is forced to look more closely at truths she has always taken for granted.
Of course, there are still dangerous portals, unpredictable magic, and more than a few things trying to kill our heroes along the way.
